About Moonriver Audio

With the introduction of the Record Room, our in-house record store, Stereo Stereo has made big strides in its commitment to analog audio for hi-fi-obsessed audiophiles and vinyl-collecting music lovers alike. As part of that commitment, we’re now carrying components from Moonriver Audio, an analog-focused brand that enhances and perfects turntable-based systems. Here’s what Michael has to say about the brand:

“I have been intrigued by Moonriver's products for a few years.  They seemed to combine a vintage aesthetic with modern engineering; I’m always after good-looking components that stand out due to their beauty rather than their clunky boxiness. I also knew that I would enjoy working with Moonriver's distributor, Philip O'Hanlon from On A Higher Note. He is known first and foremost as a music lover with deep knowledge and enthusaism that crosses genres and eras. His ethos is a great fit for my own—Stereo Stereo is always about putting the emotional experience of music first, never about putting on a lab coat first before listening.

After a few discussions, Philip sent me the Moonriver 505 Hybrid Phono Stage to listen to. I connected the Rega NAIA turntable to the Moonnriver and was immediately impressed with how quiet it is. Music just flowed in a way I had not experienced before.  I ended up leaving the system connected for a few weeks and played only vinyl. Records sounded fresh and new on this system, and I knew my customers would love it.

The 505 has no complicated digital menus, just a beautiful tactile feeling with switches and knobs. One can tell that the products are hand-assembled in Sweden. They feel wonderful, and I enjoyed interacting with the product itself. They have a warm, intimate, and organic sound. I am thrilled to welcome both Philip and Moonriver to the Stereo Stereo family.”

Celebrating Analog Audio: Save the Date

To celebrate the introduction of Moonriver Audio to our carefully curated selection of hi-fi brands, and to share our love for analog music in an increasingly digital world, Stereo Stereo is pleased to announce that Philip O’Hanlon will join us for an unprecedented night of musical storytelling on May 21st, 2026. As with all Stereo Stereo listening parties, this will be a great night of music, food and wine, all presented by one of the industry’s leading experts.

More details will come soon, but for now, make sure to mark your calendars and keep the evening of 5/21/26 free. You won’t want to miss it.
