Starting at 6pm on Thursday the 21st, the Stereo Stereo showroom will become a temple dedicated to the reverence of analog music. Featuring music played on vinyl using a system featuring Moonriver Audio components, this listening party will offer a special opportunity to immerse yourself in music selections and storytelling by one of Michael’s favorite new friends in the audio industry. Introducing Devialet, A Luxurious French Audio Brand
New in the showroom, the Devialet Astra (shown here in the Opéra de Paris edition, which is currently on demonstration) is an amp that brings an extra touch of luxury to any system. And it’s more than just a pretty face—as with all of the components in the Stereo Stereo showroom, the Astra is an audiophile-grade component that impressed Michael enough to add it to his product roster.
Of this addition, Michael says: “Divialet is a French audio technology company whose new Astra draws inspiration from the timeless aesthetic of the Arc Deco and Streamline Moderne movements. The Astra is unlike any product we've carried in our store. It combines a preamp, amplifier, DAC, streamer and phono section in one sleek, beautiful ultra-compact unit.”
The Opéra De Paris edition is notable for its luminous 23-carat gold leaf exterior, which provides a lustre and texture typically unseen in hi-fi components. Make no mistake, though. This amp is more than just a pretty face, according to Michael: “Ok, so it looks amazing, but how does it sound? We connected the Astra to the Wilson Sabrina V speakers and heard a clarity—a window into the music that we honestly hadn't experienced before on anything near this price point. No matter the music, it almost demanded that I listen. I did not want to talk to others who were listening with me. I needed to pay attention to the artist, the music is that clear and beautiful. Anyone who loves art and music will adore the Divialet. It is not just another box that sits on the shelf. It is a piece of art in your room that also plays beautiful music.”
